1989 Ford Escort XR3i
The Escort XR3 is a staple ‘Cult Classic’ for many, introduced in 1983 the second generation XR3, the ‘XR3i’ featured Bosch K-Jetronic fuel-injection.
Its 1, 597cc OHC four-cylinder engine now offering 105bhp, an impressive 0-60 time of 8. 5 seconds and a top speed of 120mph.
The example offered for sale here is a wonderfully original car presenting exceptionally throughout.
Having covered 85, 500 miles since new the car is accompanied by a healthy service record and has very clearly lived a pampered life.
Unlike many examples of the breed ‘G325 WJH’ has not been got at or fiddled with neither cosmetically nor mechanically.
There are no blue silicone hoses under the bonnet or oversized exhausts to be seen here.
The car has been re-sprayed in its life to preserve the overall condition, this was carried out to a high standard and presents well to this day.
Despite appearances this is no garage queen therefore drives just as you’d hope and expect one to, it is a real hoot with everything just as you left it in 1989.
