Description
This is a UK RHD Home Market MGA Roadster that was first registered in April 1956 and has been over in County Cork, Southern Ireland since 2010. Over the past 14 years the MGA has covered around 2000 miles and has been used for local, fine weather motoring and arrives with us from Ireland as a strong, sound, very usable MGA Roadster.
From the history we have, we know the MGA spent a long period off the road ahead of a late 1990's restoration. Paperwork from MG specialists Moto-Build in Middlesex confirms in 1999 the MGA was fitted with a rebuilt exchange engine, new clutch assembly and water pump. Further work invoiced included new king pins, front suspension trunnions, front wheel cylinders and rear brake cylinders. Trim work at the time at Moto-Build included a new mohair hood and re-trimmed leather seats with new foams. Having covered relatively low mileage since this major work, the MGA is still in strong mechanical order and is a robust, reliable example.
The underside is structurally in very good order and well over 20 years since its last re-paint, the finish is still bright and presentable. Being critical the paint finish isn't perfect, and door panel gaps could be improved and this can be quoted for if required. Fitted with chrome wire wheels, smart brightwork and woodrim steering wheel, the MGA looks very well and whilst far from perfect this is a well presented, excellent driving car. If looking for a sensibly priced, strong UK supplied RHD MGA Roadster, this car will prove a great buy.
