Description
The Daimler Company Ltd. was taken over by Jaguar Cars in 1960. The Daimler 2. 5 V8 based on the Jaguar MKII was introduced in 1962. Externally, only the radiator grille differed from the Jaguar. The interior was of a higher quality. The Daimler eight-cylinder engine was chosen, which was also installed in the SP250 sports car. A second series was built in 1967-69 with slight modifications, easily recognisable by the narrower bumpers of the Jaguar 240/ 340. The car on offer comes from this series. It was registered as a new vehicle in Switzerland and is left-hand drive. The automatic gearbox is a perfect match for the smooth-running engine. In 1982 the second owner took over the Daimler and extensive restoration work was subsequently carried out. This included repainting in the original colour. All invoices for this work are available. The Daimler changed hands again in 2017. The automatic transmission was recently overhauled. The Daimler is technically and visually in excellent condition and ready for its first spring drive.
