Description
We are very proud to offer for sale this much-loved MGB Roadster which was owned by the same family from 1976 till 2023. Purchased by Mr Chapple in 1976 from Performance Cars Ltd. of Ealing for the princely sum of £1, 295. The car has been passed down through the family, until our vendor purchased the MG last year.
The MG was subject to a high-quality restoration in 2013, with more than £10, 000 being spent on body work, which included respraying the car in its original shade of Blaze (90794). The underside has been correctly undersealed and shows no sign of rust. Mechanically the car has had regular maintenance including a thorough check over in recent months. This included a full service with new spark plugs, carburetor rebuild, 4 brand new tyres, stainless steel exhaust and electronic ignition. Adjustable power assisted steering has also been fitted for ease of parking, there is a dial on the dash to select how light you want the steering to feel. The history file is vast, stretching all the way back until 1976 and contains a mixture of invoices, photos and handbooks.
The interior is in similarly great condition with Moss UK leather seats installed for extra comfort and safety.
This is the perfect car for someone looking to enjoy the classic motoring experience but doesn’t want to give up the modern conveniences of a comfy seat and power steering. Gear changes are smooth and the overdrive kicks in and out on the switch with ease. Even the engine bay has been detailed to show standard. This example is surely one of the best out there!
