When Buell unveiled the new Ulysses XB12X at its launch in 2005 to join in the boom in UK sales of adventure sports bikes, it was a pleasantly surprising and welcome move. Every manufacturer should offer a high-and-mighty adventure/ sport like the Suzuki V-Strom, Triumph Tiger 1050, even the Ducati Multistrada. The Ulysses embodied many of the popular traits of those bikes too, with upright seating position, wide handlebars, longish suspension travel and plenty of room for a passenger and luggage. Later testing would prove the Ulysses even more capable on-road than some of the rivals mentioned above. Utilising the Thunderstorm 1203cc V-twin motor with belt final drive, the Ulysses sports a new wave of features never seen on a Buell. Buell prides itself on the ‘Trilogy of Technology’ ethos instilled by head man Erik Buell, following the theories of mass centralisation, chassis rigidity and low unsprung weight, all applied rigorously to the new Ulysses that boasts fuel-in-frame, oil -in -swing arm, underslung exhaust system, and rim-mounted brake discs. Light, six-spoke cast aluminium wheels wear new Dunlop D16 rubber designed for ‘aggressive road and off-road use’, while long travel Showa forks are fully adjustable and the rear monoshock has a remote reservoir with tool-free preload adjustment. A Kevlar drive belt deliver the power smoothly and cleanly to the back wheel

This is a beautiful condition and ultra-low mileage example of the Ulysses in black/ grey finish, and complete with factory panniers and Buell’s unique three-position Triple Tail system. Simply put, it means the tail-piece can be used in three different ways: as a pillion back-rest, a rear luggage rack and pillion grab rails, or folded over to act as a luggage carrier when riding solo.
Hand sourced and tested direct from Japan. Originally EU supplied and then exported and sold new by Harley Davidson Japan.
Service records. Motorcycle will be fully serviced at a respected specialist along with a new MOT before sold.
This example is a GRADE 4. The highest possible condition grade. Totally original panels, no accident repair or panel replacement. The bodywork is in stunning condition. Any inspection welcomed.
