Description
The Jaguar E Type was understandably described by Enzo Ferrari as ‘the most beautiful car ever made’ when launched in 1961. The E Type’s combination of beauty, high performance and competitive pricing quickly established the model as an icon of the motoring world.
The Series 2 Roadster we are offering, like so many, started life in the USA prior to being imported to the UK in 1990. Series 2 cars are easily distinguished by the larger lights being re positioned under the wrap around bumpers and a larger front air intake. Other details include improved dashboard switches with an ignition lock. Mechanical changes included ribbed cylinder head rocker covers and twin electric cooling fans to name a few.
Finished in original Primrose Yellow paintwork with a Black leather interior, the car has had much expense lavished upon it since landing on our shores in 1990 when the mileage was a credible, but not warranted, 56, 330. According to the comprehensive history file accompanying the car, well known marque specialist M&C Wilkinson of Doncaster converted the car to RHD in 1997 with invoices on file to the tune of £8, 000. In 1999 a new Mohair hood was fitted by Suffolk and Turley and the engine rebuilt and converted to run on unleaded fuel by RS Panels of Nuneaton with invoices approaching £6, 000.
The current keeper has owned the car since 2015 when the mileage was recorded at 84, 711. £6, 542 was spent preparing the car to a high standard which was obviously money well spent as the car still presents beautifully today. Although enjoyed and cherished by the current keeper, less than 1, 500 miles have been covered in 9 years hence the car is being sold due to so little use.
This is a high quality, rust free E Type roadster sensibly priced. Viewing is recommended and we can make a ramp available if necessary. We can also arrange Nationwide Delivery.
