Description
1950 80" Series 1 1600cc Petrol " Lights Behind the Grille "
The holy grail of all land rovers this charming little find has been subject to a full strip down and rebuild then reassembled with the top half remaining in its scruffy original patinated condition .
Carefully done by a very skilled mechanic / enthusiast for use at shows and local running around .
The chassis was completely stripped down , repaired and repainted in the correct Land Rover green , new springs , swivels , brakes and complete engine rebuild . The bulkhead received the same treatment and as such is in great condition .
It runs very well and sounds crisp , it sits well and drives nicely . The weather gear is the correct boot lace hood also not brand new . The seats were beyond repair and correct replacements sought from Exmoor trim
Really needs to be seen to be fully appreciated , ramp available for underside inspection . Would be a shame to paint the top half and re galvanise the cappings removing its character , best left as is !!
Originally supplied new to the military , built on the 10/ 02/ 1950 , comes with loads of paperwork , bills and receipts , heritage certificate and original buff logbook . Also current V5c .
