Offering a rare Fiat 130 Coupe that is in excellent condition and shares many common elements with Ferrari. It's no secret that Fiat acquired a majority stake in Ferrari in 1969, precisely when this car was in development.
The Fiat is equipped with an independent and adjustable rear suspension, also used in the Dino 2400.
The 3. 2 V6 (overbore) engine is designed by the renowned Aurelio Lampredi, responsible for 1950s Ferrari V12 and later Fiat engine designs. To the rear axle, the power is delivered through a 3-speed Borg-Warner automatic transmission.
The car received high praise from the automotive press for its driving characteristics, luxurious and spacious interior. It's a known fact that only about 4500 units of this Fiat were produced, with only a quarter of them surviving. The low production number can be attributed to the 1973 oil crisis, the decision not to export these cars to the USA, and the exceptionally high price (10% more than the contemporary Porsche 911).
Designed and built by Pininfarina, the exterior design also shares many features with the Ferrari 400, but the Fiat 130 Coupe is considered more refined in design.
Making this car even more intriguing is the fact that it belonged to the famous rally legend Ronnie Peterson's friend. Shortly before the "Super Swede" passed away in 1978, he reportedly enjoyed the car's modest yet refined appearance and driving experience. A picture of Ronnie with this Fiat is available.
Well-preserved and unrestored specimen. Long-time part of a collection, driven only during the summer. Originally in Sweden (showroom) as a company promotional vehicle, later moved to Norway where it spent about 15 years in a collection.
The Fiat drives very well and comfortably at highway speeds. The velvety interior provides visual pleasure, and the steering column, adjustable in all directions, allows for easily finding a comfortable driving position. The only one of its kind registered in Estonia.
The body is in good condition, and the paintwork is beautiful. All windows, lights, and other details are intact. Technical maintenance and brake system service performed at 26, 700 km. Wheels have been restored and fitted with new summer tires. The paintwork has been polished.
With the current season over, this versatile collectible is safely stored.
