Description
Triumph T 140 ES electric start
Limited Edition Royal Wedding
This Bonneville was imported from the USA by Motorrad Karrenberg in the early 90s and registered in Germany.
It has now been sold from an estate and is fully roadworthy again after a major inspection with new tyres, carburettor overhaul etc., and is very rare to find in this original condition with only 7700 miles.
History.
This was a limited edition T140 ES built in 1981 to celebrate the wedding of Prince Charles and Lady Diana Spencer.
Originally, 250 models were produced, with buyers in the United Kingdom able to choose between a US and a British version. The "LE" stood for Limited Edition. 100 of the initial 250 examples had "grey" engines and 150 had black painted engines.
The limited edition no. 001 was produced on 8 July 1981. It was supposed to be presented to Prince Charles, but he declined and asked that the proceeds be donated to one of his charities.
