Description
History:
The Fiat 500, born in July 1957, was produced over 3. 7 million times in its career. The successful model, which followed the equally popular Topolino (built from 1936 to 1955), stopped production in five series (Nuova, D, F, L, R) in 1975. This lovingly restored Nuova D Fiat was completely disassembled and rebuilt by a Cinquecento specialist. Even if the restoration costs exceed the sale value of a Nuova, it was worthwhile to bring this pearl back to life. A lot of love was put into this example, which is evident in the beautiful details such as the high-quality seat covers, additional chrome applications, an original Blaupunkt radio from the 1960s or the pretty picnic case with original FIAT emblem.
Bodywork and paintwork:
The bodywork was rebuilt very generously and a very good quality of paintwork was achieved. The paintwork still looks as freshly done. Only very few stress holes can be seen on the door hinges.
Interior:
The entire interior is new and stitched to a high standard in an absolutely fantastic choice of colours. Even the fittings have been chrome-plated to a high standard and everything looks like new.
Engine and mechanics:
The half-litre engine was overhauled unknown time ago and underwent a new refit at Goodtimer. The engine has been sealed, wear parts renewed, carburettor renewed, etc. Upon purchase, a full inspection of all engineering will be carried out by Goodtimer, as well as a fresh veteran's inspection completed.
Chassis:
The entire chassis and brakes are part of the restoration and are in perfect and tested condition. The brake system and wheels were renewed in 2017.
Driving experience:
Every Cinquecento is an experience, regardless of whether it has 14 or 20 hp. The Nuova models have the greater fresh air advantage, especially for the rear passengers, as the roof can be rolled up to below the rear window. Since 120km/ h is not an issue for the Fiat 500, there is plenty of time to enjoy the scenery and wink back at the many waving road users and pedestrians. Even at Goodtimer, where you often find top-class classics, you succumb to the charm of the Italian dwarf every time.
Recommendation:
Genuine Nuova with the so-called "suicide doors" are very rare to find and therefore sought after. This example is not only presented in a lovely colour combination, it has also been professionally restored in every detail with great effort. From our point of view, a very collectible specimen, which we consciously classify among the exclusive and high-quality classics. A welcome guest at every classic car event.
