1978 (S) Toyota Celica TA23 1. 6 ST Coupe
This iconic Japanese coupe is one of the last made being a 1978 car.
The car was subject to a restoration over a period of time including most recently a full repaint in the correct shade of Toyota Yellow, an electric power steering conversion, electronic ignition and a full engine service with replacement starter, battery and alternator.
Rarely for this type and age of car this car retains all of its original parts apart from its steel wheels that were changed for alloys many years ago and then more recently to period correct Minilite style which the car rides on now and sets the car off beautifully.
The black vinyl interior is superb and takes you right back to the 70’s when these cars were all the rage, the seats have not sagged and remain firm and the dashboard is perfect with no cracks as is the wood veneer fascia.
The brightwork on this Celica is stunning, the bumpers & glass surrounds gleam and all the original plastic exterior trims remain intact., , We have spent many hours bringing this car to the standard that you see pictured here, the engine bay has been fully cleaned and refurbished, the interior cleaned, we have refurbed the wheels, carried out a service, stripped and cleaned the front brakes and polished all the chrome. The exterior has been power polished to a high gloss and been fully waxed. The underside of the car is all good too.
These cars are becoming increasingly rare especially in this kind of condition and are currently appreciating in value year on year.
This TA23 Celica ST will make a perfect entry in to classic car ownership or fit in with an existing collection, providing a reliable, easily maintained drivable classic which would hold its own on classic tours and car shows alike.
