This stunning example of the Bristol 402 was originally dispatched on the 30th Of March 1950 to a Tom E. Barr Smith Snr of Glen Osmond South Australia, it is thought this example featured at the 1950 Earls Court Motor Show. Mr Barr Smith Snr purchased the vehicle to tour Europe before shipping the car back to Australia where the vehicle has spent it?s entire life. 6 Years later 402/ 719 changed hands to the second owner also in SA.
Between 1950 and 2009 the car endured several long term owners until Mr Barr Smith Snr?s son purchased his fathers Bristol 402 which he owned all those years ago. Considerable restoration work was carried out along with some tasteful modifications, including air conditioning, aluminium radiator and a collapsible steering column.
Only 21 Bristol 402?s were manufactured making it one of the most sought-after Bristol?s Filton produced.
