Description
The 911 Carrera 3. 0 was introduced in 1976. A, as it later turned out, very special edition because only 3, 687 units were built during the two years it was available. The 3. 0 Carrera is equipped with a three-liter engine from the 930, but without a turbo. With 200 hp, it was more powerful than that year?s regular 911. This engine would later become the power source for all models that followed, from the 911 SC to the Carrera 3. 2.
The 3. 0 is sometimes referred to as the understated version of the 2. 7 RS and 2. 7 Carrera. Understated mainly in appearance, in terms of performance, it is comparable, and in top gear, even faster than its illustrious predecessors.
This 911 Carrera 3. 0 was originally delivered to Verona, Italy. Later, the 911 continued its life in Germany before eventually moving to the Netherlands. Since then, the Carrera has had an excellent life with the best care you could wish for.
Among that care is the complete and very professionally executed engine overhaul a year ago. Carried out by a specialist, both the invoices and the photo report of the overhaul clearly show that the three-liter engine is in fantastic condition. A year earlier, both the gearbox and the clutch were completely overhauled and renewed wherever needed. In short, this Carrera simply drives amazingly well. All other technical aspects have also been meticulously maintained, and no expense has been spared on the maintenance of this Porsche.
The silver-gray bodywork is neat with impeccable paintwork. Panel are all a very neat fit, and items such as lighting, rubber, and plastic mouldings are all in excellent condition.
The interior is exceptionally neat, with factory black leatherette surrounding the highly regarded pinstripe fabric upholstery on the seat centers. The entire interior is exceptionally neat and feels very original. Not very surprising, with an original, documented mileage of 144, 000 kilometers, such a high-quality Porsche interior shows no signs of wear.
The car comes with a substantial folder of invoices, photo reports of the overhauls, brochures, and the original books. Let?s not forget Porsche?s ?birth certificate,? which underscores the authenticity and the correct engine of this special car.
