1951 Bentley MKVI Sports Saloon by H. J Mulliner 4. 6 litre ‘Big Bore’. Chassis number B135MB, this very attractive coachbuilt Bentley is finished in Dark Green with Cream sides and bonnet. The interior is trimmed in Dark Green hide with beautifully figured Burr Walnut inlaid interior woodwork which is in exceptional condition.
The H. J Mulliner sports saloon, all-aluminium coachwork is a tour de force of English craftsmanship and design and cost over £6000 in 1952 (half the price again of a standard MK VI!) This example is one of only 64 Coachbuilt Alloy Body Sports Saloon manufactured to design number 7220 by H. J. Mulliner. A particularly elegant and well-proportioned razor-edged design.
Offered with a very extensive history file going back to the 1960s having lived in the Colchester area with two doting owners since the 1970s. The last owner kept the car carefully maintained by Bentley specialist Harvey Wash Ltd for many years, recent work has included new steering and suspension joints, new exhaust system, new radial tyres and other works to ensure reliability.
