Description
Vincent factory records show that this Comet was completed 2nd Feb. 1951 and despatched to Humphrey’s of London. The early history is not known however the history file has maintenance and repair bills from Conway’s dated 1979. Other invoices also show a top end engine rebuild in 2004, the milage at that time was aprox 4, 142 as stated in an old MoT cert. The current milage is showing at 5, 314.
The bike was exported to Spain in 2009 and returned to the UK in 2017 and registered with its original number LXN 531, since then it has been part of a small collection and maintained very well. Recent work has included the fitment of a BTH magneto and a new mono bloc carburettor.
This is a well very presented example, it comes with a good history including factory records and VOC documentation confirming that it is matching number although the UFM stamping may not be correct, the engine number F5AB/ 2A/ 5862 also bears the correct matching case mating numbers 60 T.
A fine example in every way in very good running order, it is also supplied with a small amount of spares.
