Description
Biarritz Sports And Classic Cars (BSCC) is pleased to present this beautiful and rare Autobianchi Giardiniera
Fiat engineers had reworked the engine block of the Fiat 500 so that it could be rotated 90 degrees to fit under the boot of the Giardiniera. The engine was renamed "la Sole" to caricature its thinness.
They were manufactured by Fiat from 1960 to 1968, then transferred to Autobianchi in the Desio factory from 1968 to 1977.
A specific front 'moustache' with the logo and black plastic air intakes were the only notable differences from the Fiat version.
This car was restored a few years ago and imported to France in 2014 and has had only 2 owners since. We do not have a history but a expertise report from August 2022 is available.
It is in its original colour "Rosso Corallo". The vehicle is in very good condition inside and outside.
At the wheel, simplicity and practicality are the keywords. You feel comfortable behind the wheel straight away. The car starts right up. Driving is simple and easy. The small engine is more than enough for urban use. The sunroof is very pleasant, even in winter.
