Description
A well-restored Triumph TR6, ready for fantastic rides and rallies, partly due to upgrades that enhance the driving experience. A tripmaster, good seats with four-point harnesses, and an improved suspension are just a few of the enhancements on offer.
After the TR5, Triumph decided to embark on a new design in collaboration with Karmann, who took charge of the successor’s design. While the looks changed significantly, the changes underneath were less dramatic for the TR6: both the chassis, engines, suspension, and doors were carried over from its predecessor. However, this shouldn’t be seen as a disadvantage; the delightful straight-six engine paired with a manual four-speed gearbox and optional overdrive is a source of immense enjoyment.
In 1973, this Triumph TR6 was delivered to its first owner, who immediately turned heads with it. Because this is indeed a bold car, this two-seater roadster built in Coventry, England.
The TR6 we’re presenting here is in a restored condition. The restoration report clearly indicates that it underwent a full body-off restoration, with the body being entirely fitted with new sheet metal. The mechanics were also thoroughly addressed.
This tastefully dark blue TR has been in the Netherlands since 1993 and has only had two owners over the last twenty years. Enthusiasts who have cherished the car and taken care of it meticulously. The Triumph is a true driver’s car, seamlessly combining sportiness and pleasure. The car is powered by a 2. 5-liter sraight-six engine delivering 150 hp and producing a fantastic sound. The engine is paired with a manual four-speed transmission as well as in this case, the optional and popular overdrive.
As previously mentioned, the car was fully restored in the past and still looks very impressive. The body features original and well-fitted sheet metal with clean gaps. The TR6 sits on original steel wheels fitted with appropriately sized tires, giving the TR6 that familiar ‘muscular’ appearance.
The interior is equipped with very comfortable sports seats upholstered in black leather, complementing the car’s style beautifully. The seats are in very good condition. The wood on the dashboard is well cared for, as are the Smith instruments. The leather Moto-Lita steering wheel feels great to hold and is also in excellent condition. Furthermore, all controls are in fine working order.
Since the restoration, the mechanics have been consistently maintained, and the straight-six engine performs excellently. Even after 50 years the TR6’s soundtrack remains irresistible. Components like the improved suspension and brakes have also been well maintained, providing the car with pleasant and sporty driving characteristics. The transmission and overdrive function properly and respond precisely to your every command. The underside of the TR is clean, devoid of rust.
In summary, a very enjoyable Triumph TR6 in a stunning color scheme and excellent maintenance condition. The car comes with a well-filled folder containing restoration photos and documentation. Truly a car for the enthusiast to enjoy!”
