EXTERIOR
With only 24k miles under its belt this 2003 Focus RS remains in exceptional original condition. The Imperial Blue paintwork is very well presented and after visually inspecting the whole car the only negatives to report are some light stone chips and a couple of small marks low down on the front bumper. This time warp example has always remained garaged and so we’re pleased to report that the underside is also remarkably clean. A magnificent example in every respect, the only upgrade over standard being a tasteful front splitter in gloss black.
INTERIOR
The phenomenal condition continues inside; it feels like a new car and we can’t find any wear in any of the usual places. The seat bolsters are excellent and other commonly worn items such as the steering wheel and gear knob are perfect. The dash, fascia, and carbon fibre centre console are also free from any marks or scratches, and all the switchgear still feels reassuringly solid to operate, again all pristine. In the footwells you’ll find the original RS overmats, and at the rear of the car the boot is spotless. Better still, the driver’s sun visor is signed by late rally legend, Hannu Mikkola.
ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION
A real treat for the enthusiast, the engine bay is incredibly clean and original; we have sold other low mileage examples before but this one is without doubt the finest. Despite having driven so few miles the car is accompanied by a great maintenance history with 8 stamps in the original service booklet, 7 of which are from Ford main dealers. The last service was carried out by Lookers Ford in October 2022 just 107 miles ago.
HISTORY FILE
This beautiful example – no. 147 of only 4, 501 uniquely number cars – was first registered in January 2003. It has now driven a remarkably low 24, 211 miles in the hands of 5 meticulous owners. In 2007 it was driven by late Finnish rally legend, Hannu Mikkola, who used this very car to go to and from his hotel during his stay near Castle Combe where he was guest of honour at PIAA UK’s 21st Anniversary; his signature can be found on the driver’s sun visor.
Apart from one service done in 2019 the car has only ever been serviced at Ford, most recently in October 2022 at 24, 104 miles. The accompanying History File comprises the original Ford document wallet with all handbooks, a collection of old tax discs, various invoices and MOT certificates, the original service booklet with 8 stamps, a spare key, and the original 2003 bill of sale from Sky Ford.
