Since its introduction in 2000 the Lotus Exige has grown continually and has developed into what is now the ultimate track-focused Lotus sports car with breath taking performance and handling that reflects the true DNA of the brand and the ambition of the founder of Lotus Cars, Colin Chapman.

The strong and reliable 3. 5 V6 powertrain has also seen many improvements over the years and now with the continued development has an astonishing output of 430bhp routed through a six speed close ratio gearbox and Titanium exhaust achieving a 0-60mph in just 3. 3 seconds making it a strong contender against any current supercar. The top speed is quoted at over 180mph.
Power delivery is astonishing with the Elderbrock Supercharger ensuring a smooth but strong acceleration, and this combined with a kerb weight of just over 1000kg makes this a very exciting but sure footed drive with the fantastic engine note adding to the adventure. That gives this car a power-to-weight ratio of 407bhp-per-tonne ? similar to a Lamborghini Aventador.
The lightweight extruded aluminium chassis provides and almost unique feel to the drive, being very strong but lightweight and is complemented by the 'track developed suspension', with adjustable Eibach tubular front and rear anti-roll bars, Lotus tuned Nitron 3 Way Adjustable Dampers and Nitron Springs to allow road or track set up. Braking comes courtesy of AP Racing four piston calipers with race derived 'J-Hook' two part discs to ensure the car can stop as equally fast as it can accelerate.
The car is fitted with the Lotus Dynamic Performance management system which controls the Corner Brake Control, Drag Torque Control, Electronic Stability Control, Hydraulic Brake Assist, Electronic Brake Distribution, Electronic Differential Lock and Traction Control to enhance driver safety. This is all linked to the three driving modes, Tour/ Sport/ Race in which the different characteristics of the Lotus DPM system are changed according to the mode selected and can enhance the performance or safety of the drive, depending on whether road or track.
The Lotus Exige CUP 430 is the ultimate edition of the Lotus Exige and the end of the era for this superb race/ road car with it's aggressive design, enhanced aerodynamics and use of carbon fibre to enhance stability at high speeds with carbon fibre front splitter, rear wing, rear diffuser, side pods, front inspection panel and roof. The previous keeper has also added carbon fibre trimmed race mirrors to add to the character of the car (Original mirrors kept and will be included with the purchase) and LED rear lights.
Equal attention has been paid to the interior which has been designed with the driver in mind but maintaining its lightweight DNA with carbon fibre seats and sill covers. The Lotus developed steering wheel has Alcantara trim to enhance grip and control, and all other controls are designed to be at the fingertips of the driver along with the exposed gearshift to add to the character of this incredible car.
This particular model, the ultimate Exige is finished in Essex Blue with Dark Grey Leather/ Alcantara Seats with Double Stitching in Red and Grey, Air Conditioning, Cruise Control and a Clarion CD/ MP3/ WMA Receiver with iPod connectivity and black mats.
Amongst the best of the cars that Lotus produced and now that production of the Exige is ended this is in no doubt a future collectors car.
