In 1985 Ford created what became the its fastest and perhaps the most iconic model of all time: this is the Sierra RS Cosworth.
The low-key Sierra RS Cosworth wasn't just a wild-looking road car, it was a model designed and built to win races. Group A regulations from the 1980s required 5, 000 units to be built to homologate a car and allow it to compete, so in the tradition that had been established with the Lotus Cortina and Escorts RS, Ford took its Sierra and gave it an injection of competitive character.
Despite the huge rear wing, the most significant part of the Sierra RS was the 2-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine. That's why Cosworth – the engineering company that developed the engine – ended up being part of the car's official name.
The very limited production of this homologation special, in addition to the fact that many units disappeared in the 90s, make this a very rare model. This example is in very good condition, having been kept garaged its whole life. It was first registered in Portugal in 1987 and is specced in the presentation colour of Moonstone Blue.
A recent service was carried out and the car is in 100% original condition with no modifications and nor crash or racing history.
