Description

The Bentley T2 came from a period when Rolls Royce and Bentley shared their cars - as a consequence, it was a direct competitor to its RR Silver Shadow equivalent - for the connoisseurs who preferred a more understated look. However, this T2 is different. The three letters at the end of its model designation, “LWB,” signifies that this isn’t your average T2/ Silver Shadow. The LWB designation, then, signifies that this is one of 10 ever produced.

Our particular example is a well-known one, with most of its life being spent being chauffeur driven, before being enthusiast owned in Germany resulting in numerous images online showing the car at various car events. Its holiday in Germany has been well-documented by numerous stringent TUV test certificates confirming the roadworthy nature of the vehicle in the last 10 years, as well as service history with Steenbuck automobiles, a well-known marque specialist outside of the UK.

The Bentley T2 is a handsome car, with its stately presence defined by its muscular haunches and sharp lines that carry onto the front of the vehicle. In our opinion, it is a perfect balance of subtlety and opulence. Further enhancements that finish off the exterior include chrome trims, Bentley specific hubcaps, bumpers and front grille, and that lovely “flying B” that adorns the bonnet of the car. As depicted by the high-definition pictures, we are selling our example as a turnkey drivers example. With 150k miles under its belt, it is unlikely to win concours events. The Scots Pine Green paintwork is in a condition to be expected of a car with this age and mileage, with various age-related marks on the body and pitting to the chrome trim. However, none of this is unsightly, and the bodywork of the car remains straight with no rust present. We recommend any potential buyers to view the vehicle to ascertain for themselves the cosmetic condition of the vehicle, as our descriptions are subjective. A notable feature on its specification is the fact it is a non-Everflex roof car. This proves to be a welcome addition, as a vinyl roof is prone to retaining moisture from the elements, eventually corroding the surface of the roof that lies beneath. The wheels are in decent condition are are shod in good tyres sporting plenty of remaining tread.

Step inside the interior and be greeted by a cocoon boasting sheer comfort and luxury. Being the long-wheelbase model, the T2’s party piece is in the back, with an additional 4 inches of legroom to boot! It is covered in swathes of supple leather and fine walnut trim. The Beige Hide is perfectly contrasted by green piping throughout, neatly tying the interior to the wonderful Scots Pine Green exterior. Moreover, the two-interior comprising beige seats coupled with green carpetry and underdash surrounds truly adds a contemporary look associated with the luxury cars of today. Cosmetically, they are in decent condition with age related marks and wear and tear belying the age and mileage of the vehicle. The seats still retain their firmness and rigidity, and will continue to serve its lucky owners for many years to come. The wood trim remains in good order with little to no pitting or marks. Further enhancements that finish off the interior of the vehicle include leather trimmed grab handles, the inner lining of the rear seat pockets being trimmed in green leather, and the neat, clear dials which finishes off this simple, yet elegant interior nicely.

To sum up, what we are offering here isn’t the “one off opportunity to purchase an extremely rare vehicle that is capable of winning shows with its magnificent splendour.” However, we are giving potential buyers to purchase a lesser-seen classic car that is ready to be driven and enjoyed no matter the weather. In a world of nut and bolt restorations and paintwork so shiny that they double as mirrors, our team at TCC believe that some cars are meant to be enjoyed rather than collecting dust in a hermetically sealed chamber. Our 1 of 10 T2 is by no means a concours example. But, with meticulous attention to detail regarding its mechanical underpinnings, we have no doubt that this vehicle is in fine fettle, and will serve its lucky owners with many happy memories behind the wheel.
