EXTERIOR
The metallic Laguna Green paintwork presents with a great depth of shine across every panel. A cherished example since new, the car has always been garaged to preserve its amazing condition ? and it shows ? although our studio photos really don?t do it justice. Even on close inspection both the body and underside are remarkably well preserved throughout; the arches are all solid and original, there are no significant marks or dings to the paintwork, and the sills are also original and in excellent condition. There is no sun damage to any of the exterior trims and the lights are clear with no signs of any moisture ingress. In line with the mileage there is a dusting of light frontal stone chips and a few small marks to the black bumper trims only evidencing the car?s honesty further.
INTERIOR
Just as you?d expect to find inside a low mileage E30, the interior space is excellent. The seats show next to no signs of any wear, and the same can be said of the carpets and centre console. Being really picky there is a very small surface nick in the driver?s seat base but this is purely cosmetic. The dash is entirely crack-free and in the footwells you?ll find a set of original BMW overmats. Other commonly worn items such as the steering wheel and gear knob remain in first-rate condition and pleasingly both are leather. At the rear of the car you?ll find immaculate back seats and a very generous luggage compartment, again all very tidy and still equipped with the original retractable load cover.
ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION
The fuel-injected 1. 6 is a free-revving little number which, despite its modest 103hp output, provides effortlessly smooth performance; paired with a slick 5-speed manual gearbox it?s a pleasure to drive. Lift the bonnet and you?re presented with a tidy original engine bay, not overly dressed but in very sound unrestored condition with a good level of patina. Since our studio photographs were taken the both the battery and bonnet insulation have been replaced with new BMW parts.
In December 2022 ? less than 50 miles ago ? the car was treated to a full shakedown and timing belt change by marque specialists, Munich Legends ? the invoice for this work totalling in excess of £4, 600. WHEELS, TYRES AND BRAKES
The E30 sits on desirable 15-inch BBS cross-spoke alloy wheels, all in perfect unmarked condition. They are shod in a matching set of Falken tyres that have seen little use since fitment in September 2022; the spare has also recently been renewed. Within the last 50 miles the car has received substantial underside maintenance including new discs and pads all round, new front shocks, front track rods, rear drop links, trailing arm bushes, rear sub frame bushes, etc.
HISTORY FILE
A seemingly rare sight on the roads today, high quality E30 Tourings such as this are sought after by both enthusiasts and collectors alike. This particular example was first registered in December 1993. It was supplied new by Cooper BMW in Reading and has now driven a touch under 49k miles in the hands of only 5 registered keepers. Within the accompanying History File the lucky new owner will be presented with the original service book, a period E30 sales brochure and price list, MOT certificates, and a raft of maintenance invoices.
