Description
Motorsport once brought two men of different natures together: Robert Bamford and Lionel Martin founded Bamford & Martin Ltd in 1913. The vehicles were to stand out from the rest through a high degree of individuality. The name of the brand: Aston Martin. The brand name was valuable even after both founders had left the company. A receivership saved the company and new backers were found. Cesare Bertelli became the driving force behind the company, sporting successes at the Tourist Trophy, Spa, Le Mans and Mille Miglia ennobled the brand. In 1934, the Mark II was launched, of which 166 were built, a considerable number for the company at the time. Technical features such as the pivoting front wings, so-called “helmet wings”, huge Alfin brakes and the best workmanship were characteristics of these cars.
Our Aston Martin Mark II as a two-seater tourer with a short wheelbase has been restored and is extraordinarily beautiful. It is rather rare to be able to acquire such a sports car.
The classic will arrive soon.
