Description
The Morgan Plus 8 3. 5 V8 is rightly considered an incredibly popular British classic. At first glance, it may seem like you’re looking at a car that’s over seventy years old, but if you keep looking at the Plus 8, you’ll see that it’s actually quite a modern car. This particular example was delivered new in 1986 and features the well-known 3. 5 V8 Rover engine paired with a 5-speed manual transmission and a limited-slip differential. With the Bosch L-Jetronic, the Morgan is capable of squeezing out 190 horsepower.
This very beautiful, characteristically green specimen looks fantastic and is completely original. At first sight, it’s immediately clear that this is a cherished Morgan. The bodywork has been beautifully maintained and completely original. The car’s paint has been well taken care of and only shows some very light signs of use that are appropriate for the car’s age and mileage. The alloy wheels are original and give the car exactly the appearance it should have: classic with a somewhat modern touch.
The convertible top of a Morgan is very easy to operate, and the black top of this example is in good condition and fits nicely everywhere.
The interior is wonderfully original. The leather has developed a beautiful patina and is still wonderfully supple. The seats are comfortable, the steering wheel looks beautiful, and the walnut dashboard is a sight to behold. The controls and instruments all function as they should and are all individually beautifully original.
The technology is, of course, what it’s all about. The 3. 5-litre V8 is equipped with fuel injection and has been meticulously maintained. The engine delivers 190 horsepower. By today’s standards, that may not seem like much, but considering the vehicle weighs less than 1000 kilograms, we can only conclude that this is an extremely fast car. The Morgan accelerates from 0 to 100 kilometres per hour in 6 seconds and reaches a top speed of 200 kilometres per hour. What stands out while driving is the always-present torque. The engine excels in its smooth running and responds wonderfully to the throttle. Thanks to the fuel injection, the operation is very smooth, and if you want to go full throttle, you are supported by the limited-slip differential. The brakes and suspension have been perfectly maintained and function as expected.
Underneath, the Morgan is just as beautiful as on the surface. Everything about this car is well cared for. Come and let yourself be convinced because in reality, a Morgan is even more impressive than in the photos.
