Description

Jaguar’s Mk I 2. 4 was unveiled in London Earls Court Motor Show in October of 1955. It featured a 3. 4 lt-based engine of shorter stroke and fixed bore down to 2. 4 lt with linear 6-cylinder smooth operation. In the MkII, the 2. 4 lt was revised rendering an output raise to 120 bhp and 197 Nm. As per Sir William Lyons’ slogan of “Grace, Space and Pace”, the Mk II's interior was also revised to a luminous 18% enlargement of the side, windscreen and rear windows. Notably the slimmer A and C pillars gave way to an ethereal lightweight impression of the body while embracing the cabin's theatre via chrome mouldings. The MkII's pace was also addressed by a wider live rear axle, revised suspension geometry and brake discs all around.
The Mk II 2. 4 offered was ordered in 1962 in British Racing Green over Biscuit leather interior by Mr. Prodromos Athanasiades-Bodosakis, one of Greece’s most important industrialist figures of the 20th century. In 1996 it was acquired by a British motorcars enthusiast and collector who conducted a most comprehensive restoration that entailed a total overhaul of the engine and gearbox. The interior was trimmed with Jaguar UK-supplied leather and the body was hand-sanded to bare metal prior to been applied several coats of the original Jaguar’s British Racing Green. It is now offered with FIVA card and ownership records in most preserved cosmetic condition since its restoration.
