Description
Austin Healey BN1 100M “LE MANS”, 1955. Believed to have raced at 1955 Bahamas Speed Week, Trinidad and Sebring. Factory built right hand drive and a very late BN1 sporting a Le Mans tuning kit and a BN2 four speed gearbox with overdrive. The car came back to the U. K. in 1958/ 59 and resided in the south east of England for several decades. I remember seeing the car myself in 1985 in a private showroom in its correct Ice Blue metallic/ Old English White colours. It was then owned by Mr. Neil Bacon who owned the car between 1980 and 1985. He has since become a friend of ours and amazingly managed to buy the car back a few years ago. So the car is back in South East Kent where it has spent the majority of its life as can be seen on some of the old MOT certificates. Full recommissioning by JME Healeys in 2016. British Motor Heritage Certificate showing he original colours and numbers, showing the destination to Sydney, Australia. Apparently raced in Trinidad with sister car in 1955/ 56. Believe to have raced at Sebring, USA in 1957. Ex-Tony Elshoff (founder of the Healey Race Series) and ex-Mr. Pritchard racing driver, author and historian. Rare Alfin Brakes in Alloy. A superb example with a fascinating history as can be seen it its very comprehensive history file. Delivery worldwide.
