Description
The Jaguar MKV was presentedf at the 1948 London Motor Show . It was available as both a four-door Saloon (sedan) and a two-door convertible known as the Drop Head Coupé, both versions seating five adults.
Using a new - very rigid- Jaguar designed chassis with independent front suspension, hydraulically controlled brakes and with the existing pushrod 6-cylinder engines, the sculptured body was styled like the prewar cars but with flowing wings, flared in headlights and a better standard of trim. The Mark V transports its passengers in remarkable comfort, with top-notch handling for its time and British refinement. The car we offer for sale is the Saloon version. It has been subject of a carefull restoration of body and interior. The wooden dashboard was restored, leather of the seats is new, carpets are new, doorpanels were restored. All mechanics and electricity were overhauled or renewed but always respecting the original specifications.
The unique, very peculiar and rare aspect of this car is the fact that it has the "nose" of the MKIV with those huge front lamps. This makes from this car undeniably a collector item.
