EXTERIOR
This low mileage facelift E46 Sport presents handsomely in Silver Grey Metallic. The condition of the paintwork is excellent, the body having just been treated to a full detail and machine polish. Being really picky there are a couple of minor imperfections towards the front end, namely a discreetly touched-in mark on the offside front bumper and a few small chips very low down on the nearside corner. Both sides of the car are nice and straight, and all the lights are crystal-clear with no damage or signs of water ingress. Clearly it has been kept inside and out of the sun as all of the plastic trims and rubber seals appear in fine condition. Better still, there is no rust in any of the common E46 weak spots and the underside also remains in very good solid condition.
INTERIOR
Opening the door you’re greeted by a very clean interior space. Both front electric seats are excellent with no damage to the leather and only some very light creases to driver’s seat bolsters to note. The dashboard and centre console are also excellent with little more than some very light marking on the ash tray lid to report. The steering wheel and gear knob are free from any marks and retain a textured matte finish to the leather. The back seats, door cards, and headlining are all extremely well presented, as are all the carpets and original BMW overmats. The boot area is also in great shape and still houses the CD changer and complete BMW toolkit. Everything works just as it should including the ice-cold AC which has recently been recharged.
ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION
Opening the bonnet on this example is a real treat as it reveals a very fresh engine bay. The car has always been maintained to an excellent standard having almost always been serviced at BMW. The 3-litre straight-six offers effortless silky-smooth driving while still packing a punch when you need to get a shift on. The auto ‘box is a perfect match for the 330 with almost undetectable gear changes. The last service was done in 2021 just 5k miles ago but, for the new keeper’s peace of mind, a fresh service will be carried out upon sale.
WHEELS, TYRES AND BRAKES
Being a facelift example this E46 Sport sits on attractive MV2 alloys, all in great condition with only a couple of minor curb marks to report on very close inspection. They are wrapped in matching Bridgestone tyres all round and the fronts were replaced at 51k miles. The brakes have also been checked and remain in fine operational condition, bringing the car to a stop quickly and in a straight line.
HISTORY FILE
This superb example in attractive Silver Grey was first registered in March 2004. The accompanying history file is complete with the original BMW leather document pouch and all owner’s manuals, a thick raft of invoices, numerous MOT certificates, and the current V5C showing 7 former keepers. The service book is stamped at the following mileages: 15, 126 – 22, 534 – 27, 579 – 33, 197 – 34, 863 – and most recently at 48, 277 miles. The first 5 services were all carried out by Stratstone BMW in Derby, the last by an independent. The car will be freshly serviced upon sale, ready for its next adventure.
