The 1199 represents a milestone in Ducati’s supebike development history for an unprecedented integration of multidisciplinary technologies The lightweight Superquadro L twin engine was developed to become the most powerful engine on the planet with 195 bhp and 132 Nm output. Its architecture would be calculated to incorporate structural stress as part of the chassis permitting for lighter frame, longer wheel base, centralized mass with perfect front to rear weight distribution and lower overall weight rendering an unparalleled power and torque to weight ratios. Furthermore seven class leading racing electronic technologies would collaborate via several riding modes controlling engine output, gear shifting, braking, traction, handling and data analysis. In its S edition, the Panigale’s unsprung weight would be even lower via the forged lightweight Marchesini wheels and carbon fibre fender. Handling would be upgraded via an Ohlins adjustable steering damper and fully adjustable Ohlins 43mm fork, Ohlins shocks controlled by the Ducati Electronic Suspension system. Moreover all additional Ducati Traction Control, Quick Shift System, Engine Brake Control, Ride by Wire Electronic Throttle systems are set to track and sportier driving styles including low grip in the Wet Riding Mode.
