Adler Trumpf 1, 7AV Karmann 4-Fenster "Stromlinienheck" Cabriolet. 1 OF 3 CARS, A very rare and very special car.
There IS only 1 car with the same body that is 100% in good restored condition and is located in the former Karmann Karosseriewerke factory in Osnabrück, Germany, there is another in india in the hands of a private individual, and this one that we have for sale for a short period of time.
Designed by Gustav Rohr the Adler Trumpf was quite advanced for its day with front wheel drive, four independently sprung wheels and hydraulic shock absorbers that could be adjusted from the dashboard of the car. Due to the gearbox being positioned in front of the engine, but behind the front axle, the bonnet was particularly long giving the car a sleek and streamlined look. The first Trumpfs were powered by four-cylinder 1. 5 liter engines, but in 1933 a 1. 7 was available with an increase in horsepower to 38 Bhp. Built at the main Adler plant in Frankfurt some 103, 000 cars were produced between 1932 and 1941 but they were also created under license by Imperia in Belgium and Rosengart in France.
Of all the 1700cc EV models only 720 Karmann Cabriolets were produced and only a handful are known to have survived, this could well be the finest of these in existence.
The car has a stock 1, 765 cc 4-cylinder engine developing a maximum power of 45 PS (33 kW; 44 hp) at 3, 900 rpm. Top speed is 110 km/ h (68 mph)
Power transmission to the front wheels was via a 4-speed manual transmission without synchronization. The gear change uses a lever mounted on a column.
