EXTERIOR
This superb 76k mile Carrera is finished in Basalt Black. The paintwork has just been treated to a full machine polish and so presents with an excellent depth of shine that’s free of any swirl marks. The bodywork on the car is in excellent condition with no rust to report or unsightly scuffs. Looking along both sides the car is very straight with even panel gaps throughout. What really sets this example apart is the choice of factory side skirts and Bilstein B8 suspension which lowers the ride height (without compromising the ride quality) and gives it a desirable GT style stance.
INTERIOR
The hardback sports seats are a sought-after option, making the interior a space a supportive and comfortable place to be. On close inspection the driver’s bolsters have a small amount of wear (wrinkling rather than damage), perfectly in-line with the age and mileage. The passenger and rear seats are in excellent condition. There is a Sony Bluetooth unit in place for modern convenience but the original Porsche stereo is still with the car. Glancing across the dash everything appears in fine order. The handbrake, gear knob, and steering wheel are also very well presented, and in the footwells the carpets are well protected by the original Porsche overmats. The AC condensers and pipes were all replaced in 2021 and now blow ice cold.
ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION
At 75k miles the all-important IMS bearing was replaced with an uprated unit, along with the RMS, new clutch, and a major service. Equipped with a Designtek exhaust and a resonator delete air box modification, this Carrera sounds fantastic upon start up and really impresses through the rev range. A solid maintenance record supports the car with 10 stamps in the book from both main dealer and specialists. A bore score inspection was carried out 6k miles ago.
WHEELS, TYRES AND BRAKES
The 911 sits on its original 18-inch Carrera 5-spoke alloy wheels (the lighter choice of the factory range), all in perfect condition having been refurbished by Lepsons in June 2021. They are shod in Michelin pilot sport N1 tyres all round with plenty of tread remaining. The brakes have also been checked and remain in fine fettle, pulling the car to a stop quickly in a straight line.
HISTORY FILE
This Porsche 911 Carrera 2 was first registered in December 2003. It was supplied new by Porsche Centre Aberdeen and has now driven 76k miles in hands of just 4 previous keepers. Within the accompanying history file you will find the original Porsche document pack, owner’s manuals, the service booklet with 10 stamps, a stack of invoices, spare keys, and a raft of MOT certificates further verifying the mileage.
The entire history is kept within a bespoke black Motor Folios portfolio, adorned with a metal plaque stating the vehicles reg and chassis number. It also comes with an original hardback Porsche 996 catalogue.
