EXTERIOR
Having resided on Japan’s unsalted roads since new, this 4-litre Sport in vibrant Flame Red presents in great rust-free condition throughout, especially the underside. Equipped with larger bolt-on wheel arches, side steps, and chunky all-terrain tyres, it really looks the part. The paintwork presents in very good order with only handful of minor blemishes and chips to report, only evidencing the car’s honesty further. There is no damage to any of the bumpers, arches or black plastic trims, and the removable soft-top also remains in excellent, watertight condition.
INTERIOR
The rugged yet pleasant interior appears in fine original condition. As with the exterior there is no excessive wear to report, the seats still presenting with an excellent finish to the patterned cloth upholstery. The dash, door cards, centre console and steering wheel also look great, with only a small amount marking visible around the glove box area. In the footwells the carpets are free from any stains and in the dash you’ll still find the original Jeep CD player.
ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION
Barely run-in with only 26k miles (43k km) on the clock, the Sport's 4-litre straight-six starts up first turn of the key and idles smoothly up to temperature. Lifting the bonnet, the engine bay is extremely clean, remaining in superb original condition with no signs of any rust, damage or previous poor repair.
The diff and 4x4 system all work as they should, although given the condition of the vehicle they have probably seen little use. The automatic ‘box is surprisingly smooth and handles the engine's power perfectly through the gears. Since arriving with us the car has been freshly MOT’d with no advisories, ready for its next adventure.
WHEELS, TYRES AND BRAKES
The Jeep sits on a set of smart 15-inch wheels in black, really setting the car off nicely. They are shod in a matching set of Yokohama all-terrain tyres with ample tread left. The brakes have also been tested and remain in fine operational condition.
HISTORY FILE
First registered in Japan in June 2005 this 4. 0 Sport has now driven just 43, 411km or 26, 974 miles. It has only very recently landed in the UK with all taxes and duties paid on entry. It was MOT’d on arrival and UK registration is underway.
Within the accompanying History File the new owner will be presented with the original Chrysler Jeep document wallet, service booklet and supplementary owner’s manuals, an advisory-free MOT certificate, import documents, and the spare key.
