EXTERIOR
One of less than 200 ever produced, this rare STI 330S looks fantastic in Spark Silver Metallic, an understated colour but a great choice nonetheless. The paintwork presents in very clean condition all round and boasts a lovely metallic shine across every panel with few imperfections to note. The body is free from any major scrapes or scuffs and at the front end there’s hardly a stone chip in sight, the only real negatives to report being a small amount of wear along the STI front lip and a couple of discreetly touched-in marks on the rear doors. Elsewhere all the trims and badges still present in great order, the lights are clear and free from moisture ingress, and the quad exhaust tips retain a good shine. A superb example overall in excellent mileage-defying condition.
INTERIOR
The Impreza’s cabin is a great place to be with the deep, supportive bolsters and grippy Alcantara of the Recaro sports seats. Looking closer the upholstery remains in fine condition throughout with only a small amount of expected wear to the leather on the driver’s side, but elsewhere the fabric is really well presented. Given the mileage of 81k the cabin has worn very well indeed, with only a few small marks on some of the plastics to report, but nothing in our opinion to detract from the car’s overall impressive finish. Finer details such as the steering wheel and gear knob both maintain a nice textured feel, everything works just as it should, and in the footwells you’ll still find the original Subaru overmats. A well-preserved original interior, the only upgrade over standard being a more up-to-date Kenwood touchscreen head unit (original present).
ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION
The car is accompanied by a comprehensive maintenance record with 8 Subaru main agent stamps in the original service booklet not including the most recent major service (invoiced but not stamped) that was carried out in March 2022 at 80k miles. Totaling in excess of £2, 500 this recent work included a full service with spark plugs, new alternator and air conditioning belts, new front suspension wishbone assemblies, new front anti-roll bar links and ‘D’ saddle bushes, uprated Powerflex rear subframe bushes, 4-wheel alignment, and new brakes all round.
Lifting the bonnet the engine bay presents well, not overly dressed but in very good original condition with no signs of modification, damage or previous poor repair. Being a 330S the car boasts an additional 29hp and 44lb-ft of torque over a standard STI thanks to a few engine tweaks and an upgraded exhaust from Prodrive. It’s a rare car too with fewer than 200 of these special Prodrive-enhanced STIs produced.
WHEELS, TYRES AND BRAKES
Filling the arches are the original 18-inch alloys that have been re-finished to a very high standard in attractive Porsche Weissgold (colour code 539). None of the wheels show any curb marking and all are shod in matching Michelin tyres, each one with at least 6mm of tread left. The brakes have also been checked and remain in fine operational condition, recently benefitting from new discs and pads all round in March this year less than 300 miles ago.
