Manual, non-sunroof and fresh from an Inspection II service, a rare M3 CS with 80k miles.
EQUIPMENT
Interlagos Blue Metallic paintwork, Anthracite cloth/ leather upholstery, 6-Speed manual transmission, 19-Inch M Double Spoke alloy wheels, Electrically-adjustable front seats with driver’s seat memory, Seat back width adjustment, Harman/ Kardon HiFi loudspeaker system, M Leather Steering Wheel, Clubsport rear spoiler, Rear parking sensors (PDC), Automatic Xenon headlights, Headlight washer system, Rain-sensitive wipers, Professional navigation system, Automatic air conditioning, Auto-dimming rear view mirror, CD player, CD changer Brushed aluminium interior trim, Anthracite headlining, Front armrest, Rear central headrest, On-board Computer, Front fog lights, Dynamic Stability Control (DSC), Alarm system.
EXTERIOR
The CS-only colour of Interlagos Blue looks stunning and we think the best combination with the black interior. The quality of the paint itself is very nice, there are very few stone chips and it’s just benefited from a full detail and machine polish. There are no signs of any corrosion in any of the normal E46 areas and along both sides it’s free from any dents. There is a small scuff on the edge of the front bumper that has now been touched in. Just back from a fresh inspection the boot floor was found to have no cracks and reading further through the paperwork it’s clear this has been checked several times before. Also on the inspection it was noted that the underside of the car is in very clean condition with no structural corrosion, damaged parts or loose trims.
INTERIOR
The seats all remain in excellent condition. There is none of the usual wear to the driver’s bolsters, and the leather retains a satin black finish and still feels soft to the touch. The fabric centre panels are also excellent with no creasing or wear. The dashboard is immaculate with only a couple of very small marks on the ashtray lid and around the handbrake, none of the aluminium trim has any significant marks, and everything works as it should. The Alcantara on the steering wheel is in great shape with only a little light wear to the gear knob and central plastic trim on the steering wheel. All of the door cards are immaculate, and the carpets are pristine and well protected with the original BMW overmats. The boot area is pristine with no stains or wear to the grey carpet or any scratches around the plastic trims.
ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION
The engine bay itself is very clean and, reading through the history file, it has clearly been well cared for. The aluminium engine components remain in a very fresh condition with minimal oxidisation and all of the other trims and covers are immaculate. Out on the open road the car performs extremely well striking the perfect balance between the sharpness of the CSL and the comfort of the normal M3.
WHEELS, TYRES AND BRAKES
All of the alloy wheels are in immaculate condition with no curb marks or any lacquer peel. They are all shod in a matching set of premium Continental tyres which were replaced at BMW at 78k miles. The brakes are also in first-rate condition having received a new set of front discs and pads fitted at the BMW main dealer also at 78k miles.
HISTORY FILE
This example has been serviced in exact accordance with the manufacturer’s recommendations having had the important Inspection I and Inspection II services carried out at the correct times. There are a total of 10 services all stamped in the original service book, 4 of which were carried out at BMW and the other 6 at well-known BMW specialists. The last service was carried out in February 2022 and was the most expensive Inspection II service, so the next one will just be an oil change and inspection. The file also contains a raft of invoices detailing the service and maintenance work, a number of old MOT certificates, and the V5C registration document which shows the current owner has had the car for 3 years with only 4 previous keepers to him.
