EXTERIOR
This low mileage 1M presents immaculately in sublime Valencia Orange, its rich metallic hue really accentuating the car's muscular physique. The lustrous paintwork retains a deep and uniform shine across every panel with absolutely no unsightly scratches to report, and at the front end there's hardly a stone chip in sight. The car is arrow-straight along both sides, the high-gloss Shadowline trim is without any marking, and the headlights are lovely and clear. All in all, a pin sharp example throughout.
INTERIOR
With only 23k miles to its name the black Dakota leather has worn extremely well. A deep factory texture remains to every surface and the seat bolsters are showing almost no signs of any wear; even commonly worn items such as the gear knob still look new. The cabin is lifted further with anthracite Alcantara across the dash, door cards, instrument binnacle, gearshift gaiter and even to the steering wheel (a genuine M Performance item fitted in 2018 at BMW) - again all in perfect, unmarked condition.
ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION
Though the 1M's twin-turbocharged N54 straight-6 is internally identical to the 2, 979cc unit found in other BMWs, it does feature specific engine software and a unique exhaust system, both developed by BMW's M division. These enhancements, combined with an increase in maximum turbo boost from 0. 6 bar (8. 7 psi) to 0. 8 bar (11. 6 psi), raised maximum horsepower from 300hp at 5, 800 rpm to 335hp at 5, 900 rpm.
Despite its very low mileage the car has been fastidiously maintained and boasts 10 BMW main dealer stamps in the service booklet. The last service was only recently carried out by the original supplying dealer (Harry Fairbairn BMW Glasgow) in March 2022 at 23, 481 miles.
WHEELS, TYRES AND BRAKES
The 19-inch M Y-spoke alloys all present in very good condition with no curb marking to report. They are shod in a matching set of Michelin Pilot Sport tyres with ample tread left at each corner. The brakes have also been checked and remain in fine operational condition.
HISTORY FILE
One of only 450 UK examples, this gorgeous 1M was first registered in October 2011. It was supplied new to a very good customer of ours by Harry Fairbairn BMW who subsequently carried out 9 of the car’s 10 main dealer services, the only exception being a service done in 2019 at Douglas Park BMW. After a few thousand miles the first owner traded in the 1M at BMW who then sold it to the second owner. It remained in very close proximity to the first owner’s home and so when it came up for sale again in 2016, he decided to buy it back. Accordingly, the V5C shows 3 registered keepers but essentially the car has had only 2 owners from new.
The 1M’s 23k miles are fully verified by a raft of main dealer invoices accompanying the fully stamped service booklet (entries detailed below). The last service was carried out in March this year at the current mileage. The car is nicely spec’d with Harman/ Kardon, Professional satnav, Bluetooth, USB, DAB, heated front seats, electric-folding door mirrors, and additionally boasts a genuine M Performance steering wheel and M performance pedals – both fitted at BMW.
