This 1965 Austin Healey 3000 MkIII is provided in very good cosmetic and mechanical condition having previously been in two private collections including notable racer and works Healey collector Tony Elshof. Tony’s collection included four Healey 3000s of which this car represented the ideal MkIII plus 14 sprites an Alvis Healey and other Austin and British classics.
Finished in British Racing Green with Black interior trim, Black carpet and Black Everflex wet weather gear including hood bag and tonneau. This Phase II car was built on 29th January 1965 and despatched on 30thMarch with a high level of factory equipment including wire wheels, overdrive, a heater, a laminated windscreen, adjustable steering column and road speed tyres.
Over £7000 and 62 hours has been spent on servicing and improvements works in 2022 at Jim Stokes Workshop with a further £4, 200 spent in 2021 on re-chromed wire wheels, new tyres, new boot kit, new tonneau, new hood, new door glass, new seals and weather strips, refurbished oil/ water temp gauge, thermostat, oil seals radiator hoses, heater tap and more small components. There are many more invoices prior as far back as 1981 totalling nearly £20, 000 for servicing and improvements.
This is a cosmetically smart and clean Healey ready for immediate usage and enjoyment.
Previous rolling road charts state a very respectable 128. 5bhp and 148 lbft of torque which is in line with the best of what we’ve seen from original cars.
