Description

The PRH9 was Elden’s first F3 car. Launched at the 1972 Racing Car Show and featuring a plated spaceframe chassis clothed in conventional ‘shark nosed’ bodywork. It was tested extensively but only raced twice that year, driven by Mike Catlow. The factory then updated the car to PRH12 specification for the 1973 season, with a full width nose, higher cockpit sides and a tapered engine cover. Driven by Andy Sutcliffe, the car achieved a best result of 3rd at Brands Hatch.

With the introduction of two litre F3 the car spends a period in speed events before emerging in Classic F3 in the 1990s, driven by Mike Barnby. Featuring in a three car Autosport track test in 1996, and described as a ‘belter’ by Marcus Pye, the Elden then spent a period in the USA where it was restored in 2002.

Now offered with a fresh Lotus Twin Cam engine with zero miles, period Vegantune cams and 5 speed Hewland. Fitted with its original Marchant & Cox bodywork. Wets on new alloys, new foam in fuel cell and a new battery.

Verified by Peter Hampsheir, with HTP papers applied for. A very cost-effective entry for Classic F3.

Please note that this car is at the owner's house in South Lanarkshire. Interesting part exchanges considered.
