- Detailed restoration of mechanicals, body and engine bay

- Best driving Porsche of all time?
Finished in Guards Red the Sport was a limited edition model commissioned by Porsche GB in 1993 using all of the mechanical and suspension enhancements from the sought after Club Sport model but with more comfortable comfort seats added back in along with central locking and electric windows. It also has the usual mechanical features including 6 speed manual gearbox, ABS and wonderfully communicative power assisted steering. This car also has a full Cat 1 Alarm system.
I tried to keep a detail of everything, and i’ve taken care to ensure that everything has been done properly, by reputable & knowledgeable firms that take great care in what they do. It is fully HPI clear with no accidents, theft or outstanding finance, original Porsche certificate of Authenticity. I’ve tried to show a true representation of the condition in the photos – It looks brilliant.
It has been maintained by various reputable specialists including a large amount of work done by #1 968 specialist MLR Porsche in Stoke with invoices to show the detail of what was completed (key items listed below) - details above. They have done a wonderful job in bring the mechanicals back up to A1 condition and I’d have no hesitation in driving this car to the South of France tomorrow – It makes a wonderful and surprisingly refined GT car. When it was serviced at MLR it was fully flushed and also had the compression's tested - They were consistently good across all cylinders and the unit performances brilliantly, using no oil and producing no unusual noises or smells. There are no leaks and it's good to go for another 170k miles!
Engine & Drivetrain - Maintained with the correct oil during my ownership and always regularly checked. The clutch feels great with ideal biting point and no slippage and the gearbox is also a joy to use. The cooling system has also recently been inspected and tested and is performing perfectly. The under-bonnet area in particular is in great condition with no leaks, new zinc plated fittings and even the original spec factory stickers in place.
Exterior - Great condition throughout with no dents etc and only a small number of minor marks; it really is exceptional for it’s age. The front bumper rubber gaskets have also been renewed by MLR as these are prone to warping and delaminating - A big job that has now been addressed and the shut lines and rubbers are now perfect. The original Genuine Cup 2 17" wheels have been fully professionally refurbished and look fantastic and the Pilot port Cup 2 tyres are also in great condition.
Interior - As can been seen from the pictures, this is in great original condition, its testament to Porsche's fantastic build quality and materials selection at the time. The gear lever and steering wheel are in great shape also and all the trim is intact and undamaged. Under the bonnet the engine bay is in wonderful condition with no leaks etc and all original fittings still in place. The dials have a habbit of malfunctioning on these but MLR have overhauled the dial pack and renewed some senors to ensure these work as they should. There are also two sets of original keys and alarm fobs included.
Suspension & Chassis - In great shape and feels super tight and responsive – There is nothing that needs doing here. The dampers have recently been replaced and various connectors, roads and bushes have also been renewed. It tracks straight and true, helped by the tires and having a full geo suspension alignment. The rear sill sections and arches are known for corrosion on the 968, 944 and 924 and this one has had a full professional rebuild of these areas at significant expense followed by a full undersealing and waxoil session to ensure the body fairs just as well as in the future as the powertrain does. The brakes are also in fine condition with healthy discs and recent pads as well as all-important fluid changes.
It will come with a full MOT and also qualifies age-wise for export to the US / USA / North America under their 25 years+ import rules. It was fully serviced 1, 000 miles ago (including gearbox fluids etc), comes with the two original keys and alarm fobs and it also qualifies for cheap classic car insurance. This is a rare and appreciating classic that drives significantly better than any 911 i've driven and if you have any questions please let me know - A walkaround video with it running is also available.
