This car is just awesome !! I've not used it much, but when I do its performance and quality are just the best. Better than any other 7 I've been in, or owned. If your looking for a high spec Caterham, I highly recommend you view this car. I promise you won't be disappointed !
Birkin were and still are officially licenced by Lotus Cars and therefore a genuine continuation of the Lotus 7 just like Caterham.
2012 Birkin 7 with a standard se3 chassis, assembled using all new components. and ULEZ compliant.
In the early 1980, s Lotus ended production of the Seven and granted licenses to other companies to continue manufacturing. In the UK that was Caterham Car, who at the time were retail agents and have now become best known for continuing their manufacture. Birkin Sportscars ( started by John Watson who has an engineering interest similar to Colin Chapman ) was also granted a licence and are based in South Africa. They sell mainly in Australia, South Africa and the U. S. A.
Over the years these cars have evolved and developed mainly due to: the availability of components, design, and changes in legislation. The cars we see today may look very similar to those early originals but share nothing of their components. Surprisingly though, Birkin and Caterham share many of their modern day components and still look strikingly similar. Having owned both. I believe the Birkin to be of a higher quality construction and of a higher spec, as it has a fully independent double wishbone fully adjustable rear suspension setup.
This Birkin was ordered and spec, d by its first owner who was a British race champion. He chose this car for its superior construction and then spec, d it as a 360 CSR with a number of upgrades.
When new the car was sent to a suspension specialist to be set up and corner weighted and then sent to an engine specialist where the ECU was programmed and the engine tuned on a rolling road to over 180 bhp. It was the owners intension to have it retuned to over 200 bhp once it was run in. ( This was not done yet due to a lack of use ).
I purchased this car in early 2020 from the first owner with just 1850 miles and due to lockdown it now has only 3000 miles.
This car is in excellent condition and comes with a number of items including a jack and tools in its own bag, 3 ring binders consisting of a full build manual, papers, receipts and an ECU tuning CD, 2 sets of keys, cherished number plate and indoor car cover.
I believe this to be the highest spec Birkin in the country, though there are not many in the UK. Some Caterham owners are not prepared to entertain the thought that another company can build it better, but this car is way better and very special. This is a rare opportunity to
have a car of such quality and spec. If you have an interest in "7's" and want to know more, your more than welcome to view.

May take p/ x. for something interesting.
You won't be disappointed. I say again, this is no fake, copy or imitation. This is a genuine licensed continuation of the famous and original Lotus 7.
