Here we have a very nice Lightweight Land Rover Series 3 FFR.
"FFR" stands for Fitted for Radio and these land rover's are becoming quite rare nowadays .
This one was used by the British army and it has all the correct original internal and external features apart from the radio equipment, including -
* Nato rear tow hook ,
* Military trailer lighting socket,
* Pioneer tools mounted on the correct 2 piece tailgate,
* Rear Bumperettes,
* Military style lights,
* Michelin radial tyres,
* Original windscreen wiper cover ,
* 24volt instruments ,
* Oil cooler,
* Correct front seats,
* Military ID plate.
* Correct new FFR canvas hood.
* bonnet mounted spare wheel,
* 2 large radio aerials to attach to the wings.
This Land rover has been refurbished in France by a retired engineer and it has just arrived back here with us . It is Right hand drive and will be registered with a UK registration number.(photos show the French plates)
When in service with the army it carried the registration number 55HG34 and went into service in 1981 with the Grenadier Guards and decommissioned in 1992.
There is a folder of receipts etc as well as a copy of the army vehicle history card .
All in all this is a very nice Airportable Land rover or lightweight as they became known as.
As always this one will go through our workshop and will be checked over mechanically with safety and reliability in mind .
