Description
1966 Mk2 Spitfire. Full restoration including a rebuilt Mk.|I engine by Quiller with new head, pistons, valves, main bearings, pumps and so-on. Most engine replacements are Mk. 4's. This one has a modified fuel pump that doesn't allow tyhe Carbs to be over-pressured (They didn't have return bypass lines). Start-up cold oil pressure at 45-47psi. One of the best body-off paintworks you'll find with even-gap door, boot and hood fitting Red as original, original bonnet; Original parts throughout. Dynamo and larger (new) radiator fitted. Has electro-optical ignition, a discrete 4-port USB power socket, sealed beam halogens and a full big-bore stainless exhaust (Single pipe); all practical improvements so it starts first-time,/ every-time, you can drive at night and it sounds the business. White softop, Tonneau and a hardtop (GRP with glass so it fits and seals properly, doesn't corrode, can be lifted-off by one person and doesn't dent the bodywork as the originals do/ did). Oil pressure, vacuum and ammeter fitted in the radio bay. Large original option leather bound Triumph wheel fitted but there is a smaller alloy Momo-type steering wheel too as an option. New seat covers, new carpeting (Fitting as well as originals do), new window seals ya-te-da.... Original (new) card backed shelves, boot covers and spare wheel cap. No speaker holes. Dry-stored in garage under cover in France near Chateau-du-Loir and maintained cost-no-object. Lots of photo's, just not recent ones as we couldn't get down there for awhile. Wiper motor goosed but I'll provide a new one as an exchange (I don't use it in the rain... and they are pretty useless anyhow). Lots and lots of new spares. No corrosion, no dents, no bubbling paintwork, no filler, no perished rubber. I can provide links if you want to hear it running and starting. 16, 500GBP
