Description
Beautiful 1949 Tatra Tatraplan. Tatra, a Czechoslovakian auto manufacturer returned to the factories after the war to resume production. Building on the T97 model, the redesign lead to the T600 Tatraplan. Produced from 1948 to 1952 totaling only 6, 342 ever being produced. It is said only 168 were ever exported to North America, making this a rare find here in the United States. The design is truly set off by the tear drop design. This particular car underwent a full restoration in (former) Czechoslovakia by Tatra experts, and was imported here to the US. The owner found this car while living in Europe, and brought it back with him when he moved back to the US. The car is powered by a rear mounted flat 4 cylinder, 1952cc engine with a 4 speed manual transmission. The only item that was modified from the original was the installation of an electric fuel pump. Car is runs and drives very well. Many more pictures available. Inspections are invited and encouraged.
