Description

The new SL didn’t have an easy start when the “Pagode” was first introduced at the Salon on Geneva in March 1963. It was recognized as a modern successor to the 190 SL but it got rejected as a successor to the 300 SL. The 230 SL represented a new generation of sports car: A two-seater with high performance engine and an elegant and comfortable driving experience. On special order, one could get disc brakes, optional automatic gearbox, modern foldable top and hard top. This model was a big success! The first follow up model was the 250 SL, built from December 1966 until January 1968. The new engine with a 7-layered crankshaft created less vibration and was more elastic. Only 5, 196 cars of this model were built so the 250 SL is considered quite rare.

Our 250 SL has only had 2 previous owners and the last owner enjoyed the car for 27 years. Recently, this classic car was completely overhauled (engine, injection pump, transmission, axes, suspension) and has been newly painted. All repairs are documented in detail. Leather and top were redone with new but historically correct materials. This roadster is in mint condition and ready to find a new owner!
