1936 Lagonda LG45 Tourer SOLD

1936 LAGONDA LG45 TOURER

Chassis number 12113

Engine number 12113

Registration number ELD 509

This is a beautifully restored example of this desirable, powerful and long legged
open tourer, the original art deco bodywork being to a design of Frank Feeley, who was responsible for many of the Lagonda body designs in the mid/ late 1930’s.

The factory record card shows that the car was ordered and delivered with silver paintwork, blue leather and blue weather equipment, and that this combination of colour schemes was retained during the very comprehensive restoration.

The Lagonda Club hold ownership records from the mid 1950’s and tell us that the car was in Canada just before the turn of the Century, returning to the UK in 2004.

The new owner instigated a full restoration, the mechanical aspect being entrusted to Chris Shenton Engineering, the body and trim being completed by Trevor Hirst. The car has travelled some 10, 000 miles since this work was completed and the condition of the car today is a testament to the calibre demanded by the owner and achieved by the restorers.

During the restoration, all the major components were crack and/ or pressure tested and the re-wire was completed in the correct cloth covered cable. A stronger G10 gearbox was sourced and fitted, being both smoother and easier to operate than the G9.

All the restoration work is detailed in the files which accompany the car, being available for inspection at our showroom here in Foxfields.

This is a truly well restored example of this iconic car, ready for UK and continental touring or use on many of the high profile semi-competitive events which have become so popular.
