Description

AVAILABLE FOR HIRE AT £1, 000 A DAY "DRY HIRE" FOR PROMOTIONS, FESTIVALS, CORPORATE EVENTS, GIGS, WEDDINGS OR ANY TYPE OF EVENT YOU CAN THINK IT WILL SUIT.
CALL US WE OPERATE "SERGEANT PEPPER" AS A "HIGH TEA BAR" OR PIE AND PINT VAN/ OR INDEED WHATEVER !

HISTORY OF THIS VAN:
WE RECENTLY TRACKED DOWN THIS ONE OF KIND MOGGIE VAN IN BELIEVE IT OR NOT TEXAS U. S. A !
"SGT. PEPPER" AS WE NOW CALL HER STARTED LIFE HERE IN THE UK, MANUFACTURED IN OCT 1970 , BETWEEN THEN AND INTO THE NEW MILLENIUM SOMEHOW, JUST LIKE THE BEATLES , HE MADE HIS WAY ACROSS THE POND TO AMERICA.

A FEW YEARS AGO HE WAS PURCHASED IN NEW YORK BY MR AUSTIN STARBUCK ( YES THAT REALLY IS HIS NAME ! ), FROM TEXAS WHO FLEW TO NEW YORK AND BOUGHT THE VAN AND THEN PROCEEDED TO DRIVE IT 2, 000 ODD MILES ... EMPHASIS ON THE ODD L. O. L .... BACK TO HIS FAMILY'S HOME IN TEXAS.

YOU MAY ASK WHY ?

WELL YOUNG AUSTIN HAD A PLAN TO BUILD HIMSELF A ONE OF A KIND CAMPER AND THEN WHEN FINISHED GO TRAVEL THE MOTHER COUNTRY !

IF YOU GOOGLE 1969 MORRIS MINOR VAN BUILD ON YOUTUBE, OR CLICK THE LINK: - details above YOU CAN WATCH HOW AUSTIN TRANSFORMED THE VAN INTO HIS HOME BEFORE SETTING OFF ON HIS ROAD TRIP.

WHEN HE FIRST GOT THE VAN BACK FINALLY TO TEXAS AFTER A SOMEWHAT INTERESTING INITIAL ROAD TRIP HE ENDED UP RE-BUILDING THE ENGINE AS WELL AS CARRYING OUT OTHER BASIC WORK BEFORE HE SET ABOUT 300 HOURS !!!!!, YES 300 HOURS OF HAND-PAINTING THE VAN IN CLASSIC "ONE SHOT" SIGNWRITERS ENAMEL AFTER STENCILLING OUT THE ARTWORK VIA A PROJECTOR TO CREATE WHAT WE THINK IS A UNIQUE PIECE OF ROLLING DRIVING ART.

AUSTIN HAD BY ALL ACCOUNTS AND ABSOLUTE BLAST DRIVING THE LITTLE VAN AROUND THE STATES BUT AFTER HIS TRAVELS AUSTIN DECIDED TO SELL THE VAN HAVING BY THIS STAGE REMOVED HIS LIVING ACCOMMODATION ALTERATIONS AND HE PUT IT BACK TO A MORE "NORMAL" VAN...( IF ANYONE CAN EVER CALL THIS VAN NORMAL ! )

WE CAME ACROSS HIS ADVERT ONE LATE NIGHT AND AFTER CALLING AUSTIN AND HAVING A GOOD CHAT WE STRUCK A DEAL, HE HAD NOT ONLY 300 HOURS OF PAINTING IN THE VAN BUT ALSO HAD SPENT CLOSE TO $20, 000 CREATING THIS ONE OF A KIND VAN, IT'S JUST THE COOLEST MINOR VAN EVER.
THE REASON I WANTED IT IS BECAUSE NOT ONLY CAN I APPRECIATE THE WORK THAT'S GONE INTO IT BUT ALSO THE FIRST THING I EVER DROVE WAS MY DAD'S FIRST LITTLE WORK VAN WHEN HE WENT SELF EMPLOYED IN MID 70-'S HIS VAN WAS A GREEN 69' MORRIS VAN REGISTRATION "XLP 302G" WHICH BEFORE I WAS LEGALLY OLD ENOUGH TO DRIVE HE PASSED ON TO MY COUSIN WHO TRAVELLED TO ALL THE FESTIVALS IN IT IN THE UK FOR YEARS.
SO NOW IT AND ME HAVE KIND OF COME FULL CIRCLE.

CALL US TO DISCUSS ANY EVENTS YOU MAY WANT TO SEE "THE SERGEANT" AT.... ALSO CHECK OUT OUT MILK FLOATS AND VINTAGE BUS BAR.
