The Registration
If you own a Mercedes-Benz CLS 350D - this is quite literally the perfect registration. It really doesn’t get much better than that. Naturally, it would also work for other CLS models or any Mercedes cars equipped with the most capable of engines.
The DVLA first rolled out ‘suffix’-type registrations in 1963 which included an age identifier letter. Logically, it started with ‘A’, so by August 1966, UK registration ended with the letter ‘D’. That means ‘CLS 350D’ can be affixed to any vehicle registered from August 1966 onwards. That makes it very versatile. Offered with a retention certificate and ready to use, ‘CLS 350D’ awaits its next custodian.
