The Appeal
As warmer weather is just over the horizon, now is the right time to start shopping for a car to enjoy all of those sunny days. With only one owner during its time this Mustang has been looked after when on the road. Some work is necessary to get this car back to its former glory but with 4.6l worth of V8 under your right foot and the 5-speed manual gearbox to exploit this car will always bring a smile to your face.
The History and Paperwork
- Ordered new from Wade Ford, Georgia in April of 2000 this car has never left the current ownership
- Over in the US, the car was enjoyed and maintained well
- In 2006 the car came over to the UK
- There were some small changes made to the lights to get them through a UK MOT
- But these were carried out by a specialist in American cars
- It was used in the UK until the early 2010s
- After this, it was SORN and stored in the garage
- The latest invoice from 2023 documents some work that will need to be carried out before it gets back out on the road
- You can see from the gallery that there is a lot of history that comes with the car
- This includes Ford handbooks, MOT certificates, US Titles, the UK V5, and assorted invoices
- Although it may require some work, this car will create many happy memories for you in the future
- Don’t miss out on this rare opportunity to own a modern muscle car
The Interior
- Inside this Mustang is trimmed in some rather nice beige leather with matching beige plastics
- The seats are trimmed with a fetching beige leather
- In the rear, the two seats are in very good condition
- The front passenger seat does some slight signs of wear but no large areas of damage
- You might spot some wear/cracks to the leather on the driver’s seat
- This is due to the car being left open in a warmer state
- Potentially this can be an easy fix resolved with a set of new seat covers
- A lot of the interior is also finished in a similar beige colour too
- The dashboard panel is in great condition with no cracking to the plastic
- The current owner had air-conditioning fitted from the factory, this wasn’t tested on the day however
- On the two large doors, you’ll find a set of well-presented beige door cards
- This is where you’ll also find the controls for the electric windows
- With the fabric roof up the headliner is in okay condition with some small marks, but no large rips
- At the press of a button, the roof retracts and folds neatly behind the rear seats
- It is then hidden by the included tonneau cover
- With the roof down the interior is filled with light making it feel nice and large
- Having the roof retract opens up the interior to all of that V8 noise
- Overall, the interior is in good condition and waiting for you to hop in
The Exterior
- The exterior of the fourth-generation Mustang is instantly recognisable
- Proudly wearing its Mustang badge in the front grille, it looks like every part of the muscle car it is
- Externally this car is in good condition, but it may need a little bit of TLC
- Finished in a deep gloss black it still retains a nice shine and reflection
- There are a few marks that can be seen on the rear bumper and along the side of the car
- Hopefully, these can be polished out so that you can have a pristine yank tank
- It sits on a nice set of five-spoke alloys
- These are all in rather good condition with little to no curb marking
- There is also a space saver spare in the boot
- The fabric roof is in good condition
- You might spot a few marks on the hood but there are no large areas of damage
- Overall, the exterior of this Mustang is relatively good
- With a little bit of TLC, you should be able to get this car looking its best
The Mechanics
- There is no doubt that this is a proper muscle car
- Under the bonnet is a large 4.6l V8
- It then sends all of its power through a 5-speed manual gearbox to the rear wheels
- The current owner recounted a couple of stories that prove its muscle car credentials
- On the day of the photos, the car was not run
- However, a couple of jump leads were connected, to show it does turn over
- The invoice from earlier this year also references that the car does run
- It will need some work carrying out to the brakes, this is the main area where work is needed.
- With this work completed, you can get this V8 muscle car back out on the road
- Thanks to its manual gearbox you will have a very engaging drive
- You definitely don’t want to miss out on this opportunity
Summary
They don’t make them like they use to you know. This could be one of your last opportunities to own a large V8 from the states. With a little bit of work carried out to tidy up certain areas, you will have an excellent and rare car in your collection.
