The Appeal
A French and Italian design fusion, the 406 Coupe was derived from Pininfarina who took the idea to Peugeot to use their 406 platform to create a sporty coupe aimed at the premium marque in the exciting pacey coupe market of the nineties. Peugeot has a pedigree in the sleek / elegant coupe segment… just look at the 504 Coupe as a taster.
Another collaboration between the two firms intended to continue that combination of style and practicality. As a result, production occurred at Pinniferina’s Grugliasco plant in Italy opposed to France allowing a focus on quality to best aim the car at the premium marques. Subsequently, the 406 Coupe was unveiled officially at The Paris Motor Show in 1996. The Coupe was an instant success winning awards including "The Most Beautiful Coupe of the World 1997" at Milan - quite an accolade.
Today the 406 is a rare sight, one of those modern classics that is beloved by a growing band of enthusiasts but little known more widely. Those fans recognise what a good car it is: a lovely sonorous V6 with plenty of heft, dependable 406 underpinnings and of course great looks.
With UK RHD V6 examples in good condition so difficult to come by we’re delighted to present this beautifully kept, highly spec’d example for sale. Enthusiast owned, this 406 comes from a knowledgeable owner, who also owns a rare RHD 504 Coupe. With a very impressive service history, low ownership and sensible mileage, you can be sure this one isn't going to be hanging about…
