The Appeal
This Volvo 850 flies the flag for the saloon variant of the model. Most people think of old Volvos as only ever being estate cars, but there were plenty sold as saloons. In fact, the estate wasn’t introduced until two years after the saloon had made its debut.
Finished in an attractive shade of metallic green, this 850 exhibits all the straight-line aesthetics you could wish for in a Volvo, with its acres of bonnet at the front and a humungous boot at the rear.
This car has had a few bumps and scrapes, but with some care and attention it could be brought back up to a high standard of finish. Volvos of this vintage have a reputation for longevity, so there should be plenty of life left in this Scandinavian saloon.
