NO RESERVE - 1995 Buick Regal 3.8L V6

**Vendor supplied images**

Highlights

  • USA Import
  • Desirable 3.8L V6
  • Just 3 UK former keepers
  • MOT until May 2023

The Appeal

Since 1973, the Regal has been Buick’s premium mid-sized vehicle offering and has since developed into the likes of the Opel Insignia and Holden ZB Commodore. This particular Regal belongs to the third generation of its kind, known for being the first Regal to choose a front-wheel-drive configuration. It was also the first Regal to stray away from the previous V8 and turbo V6 engines, instead opting for a series of naturally aspirated V6 powerplants.

Today, this generation of Buick Regal is seldom seen in the figures it once was across in its homeland, let alone here in the United Kingdom. As a result, this is a very rare vehicle here in the UK, and is very likely one of only a small handful of imported Regals. This would make a very interesting addition to a collection, and despite its age, could be a very unique dependable daily driver.

The History and Paperwork

  • USA Import
  • Just 3 previous UK owners
  • Used regularly
  • Receipts for previous maintenance
  • Excellent running order
  • MOT until May 2023
  • Original owners manuals
  • V5C document present
This Buick has been enjoyed by just 3 former keepers here in the UK, and has since ticked just over 100 thousand miles, still quite a low number for a daily driven vehicle of this age. The vehicle is believed to have been used daily by previous owners, save for a period between 2019-2022 when the car was rested in storage.
The vehicle clearly suggests a care-filled past, as it boasts no known mechanical issues and drives brilliantly. Now, this Buick is ready to find a new home, where it will hopefully continue to be somebody’s pride and joy.

The Interior

  • Original blue interior
  • Excellent condition
  • Electrically adjustable seats
  • Working A/C
  • Left-hand drive
  • Original toolkit, spare and jack included in the boot
  • Comfortable driving experience with great visibility
As the included images suggest, the interior of this Buick Regal appears to be in excellent condition for its age and mileage, showing only a few expected signs of wear. Perhaps most notable throughout the entire interior, is a slight amount of wear to the driver’s seat bolster, although this hardly detracts from the overall comfort. Both the front passenger seat and rear seats appear to have only been used a small number of times and show minimal signs of age.
Although perhaps desiring a dash of TLC, carpeting throughout the vehicle looks to be in good shape, as does the original headliner. As the photos will also reflect, all 4 door cards appear to have been well cared for and show minimal defects other than a couple of minor areas found on the driver’s door card.
Although the rest of the interior is believed to be original, the cabin seems to show off carbon fibre style trim pieces, in areas such as the centre console and door cards. These appear to be a recent addition, based on their fantastic glossy finish and are a welcome addition to an otherwise perhaps monotone interior.
Carbon details aside, examples of original components can be found with items like the steering wheel, which are in fair condition, befitting both the vehicle’s mileage and age. Overall, this is quite a pleasant interior that is without a doubt as comfortable on long trips as it looks. With a dash of TLC, it would appear quite easy to have the interior of this Buick Regal looking rather close to its factory finish.

The Exterior

  • Original blue paintwork
  • Gorgeous wheels
  • Great condition
  • Welded sills
Although perhaps a bit more common in its homeland, this Buick Regal stands out from the vehicles found on UK roads, showing off quite a long wheelbase and sleek front end. The car also boasts its original blue paintwork, which appears to be in great condition for its age, but does show minor blemishes and scratches befitting the mileage.
The vehicle sits on the correct alloy wheels, which now show their original chrome finish, as well as body colour-matched centres. All trim pieces such as lights, badging and the grille appear to also be in great condition, possibly only showing incredibly minor signs of age.
The underside has been tended to in the past, with previous sill repairs noted by the current keeper. The vehicle received an advisory for general underbody corrosion as part of its recent MOT test but does not pose any structural weakness.

The Mechanics

  • 3.8L Buick V6
  • Automatic transmission, with overdrive
  • Long MOT
  • Drives without fault
  • Good fuel economy for a V6
Buyers will be pleased to know that this Regal fires up right away, and performs without a single known mechanical or electrical fault. This Regal is fitted with the largest engine offered for the 3rd generation vehicles, making it quite a desirable specification.
The 3.8L Buick V6 is said to pull well through the gears with no unwanted noises or smoke. It’s also apparently a surprisingly economical vehicle, capable of returning 40mpg on long trips, which is rather remarkable for a larger V6.
As a result of its fantastic mechanical condition and fair fuel economy, this Regal could quite easily be used as a dependable workhorse, in place of the common modern alternatives here in the UK. Why settle for the everyday option, when you can cruise in style, in a rare American import?

Summary

This Buick Regal will surely make a fantastic addition to a collection, or even serve as a trusty daily driver thanks to its exceptional comfort levels and brilliant mechanical condition. With just 3 former keepers here in the UK, this saloon has clearly been well taken care of over the years and continues to show off its original finish with pride.
